Legal Counsel

Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft and negotiate various commercial agreements including NDAs, software licensing and ‘software-as-a-service’ (SaaS) agreements, partnership agreements, procurement related agreements, etc. to support the business
  • Manage and advise on HR-related and contentious matters, contractual disputes and support business in any crisis management
  • Assist with M&A and joint venture projects
  • Assist in various legal and compliance initiatives as required, including group-wide legal templates, guidelines and policies
  • Manage and support implementation of legal technology and resources, such as for third-party screening and contract management
  • Manage external counsels, as required, on supporting contentious or non-contentious matters
  • Assist in the development of training materials and provide training to business on relevant legal topics and best practices
  • Assist and support in corporate secretarial matters for group companies
  • Provide day-to-day legal support on legal and operational matters working closely with various business stakeholders on a variety of matters

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Law; Singapore-qualified lawyer with 5 years PQE
  • Commercial contract experience is mandatory, preferably gained in both law firm and in-house counsel roles
  • Preference for candidates with TMT or licensing background
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and team spirit; able to work collaboratively across business lines and global teams on a wide range of topics
  • Ability to work across multiple time-zones on international projects, including in Europe and the United States
  • Self-driven and able to work independently, organize, prioritize and manage ongoing matters in a faced-paced work environment
  • Has a practical, business-oriented approach to problem solving and communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong professional ethics, integrity and judgment
